Welcome to Woodlands, a characterful Regency house overlooking the sea in the south Devon seaside resort of Teignmouth. Situated among extensive gardens, woods and rolling lawns, Woodlands has been run by three generations of the same family since 1966.
B&B in Teignmouth
We pride ourselves on offering friendly, high quality and comfortable bed and breakfast accommodation for all our guests. We also welcome pets.
Woodlands – a Teignmouth B&B
Woodlands house in Devon is a beautiful example of a grade II listed Regency house located in a picturesque setting and oozing with charm and character. Guests are welcome to enjoy our sitting room, conservatory and spacious veranda with amazing views of the garden and sea. We are located within ten minutes walk of the centre of Teignmouth, with all its facilities, and the south west coast path.
You will enjoy a warm and friendly welcome and we offer ample free and secure parking, just yards from the property. We have two large ensuite rooms on offer, both of which have stunning views of Teignmouth and the sea. We think we are the perfect base for your English seaside holiday. There is something to suit everyone in and around Teignmouth – the gem of South Devon.
Woodlands b&b Teignmouth is an elegant house typical of its time with most original features still in place, including our stunning central staircase. It has a beautiful relaxed, welcoming feel as it is a family home first and foremost, but one that needs to be shared and enjoyed with all our guests.
One of the oldest surviving houses in Teignmouth, Woodlands has been a hotel since the 1950s and has passed through three generations of our family since 1966. So we know something about making guests feel welcome!
Our Devonshire breakfasts are served in our impressive and elegant dining room every morning. We freshly bake our bread for all our guests and cook with locally sourced ingredients.
Sea View rooms
Both our rooms are generously sized with large ensuite bathrooms and tea and coffee making facilities. We offer free wifi throughout the house and free secure parking. The house is perfect for a romantic getaway, but we also have very comfortable fold up beds to use if you want to bring little ones along.
“Our family have been staying at Woodlands since the early 1970s and we still love to come back to this wonderful place. The tradition of Woodlands hospitality is timeless – excellent food, comfortable rooms, and in a peaceful location with wonderful sea views.” – Review from guests who keep coming back.
Things to know
Our rooms are both on the first floor with access by stairs only, so unfortunately we cannot accommodate wheelchair users. This is a large property spread over four floors and our family lives in it. We are close enough to be helpful, but not so close as to be intrusive if you would like privacy. We look forward to giving you a friendly Devon welcome!
The Beach Hut
We have a beach hut which all our guests may use for free. This is a well stocked little chalet right on the beach front at Eastcliff, in easy walking distance from Woodlands and the town centre. The beach hut is equipped with a microwave and kettle so you can picnic by the sea in style. Even better, an ice cream shop is right next door.
“A large group of us took over Woodlands B&B Teignmouth last Summer. We had a terrific time, great breakfasts, dog friendly and all told a fun traditional English seaside holiday experience (and we made use of the beach hut). On one or two nights we were able to use the barbecue in the lovely garden. Just perfect sipping wine while sitting in the conservatory of an evening looking out to sea…..”
