Sarah was very welcoming. My room was very clean and comfortable. It was a bonus to have a bath after a long wet days hiking! The continental breakfast provided was more than enough. Great location for walking into town to eat in the evening.

Sarah’s place is a unique house, very spacious and full of character with fabulous views. One thing that I particularly loved that I could have a late (delicious) breakfast and she provided herbal tea and hot chocolate in the room as well as normal tea & coffee. It’s well located for the station too.

What’s nearby

Teignmouth has long been know as the gem of south Devon. Teignmouth is an ideal B and B location, it is a traditional seaside holiday town with a Victorian pier, miniature golf, many independent shops, pubs, cafes and open spaces. It has two beaches with distinctly different atmospheres, the main beach where most people spend their day walking or sunbathing and the back beach, where people moor their boats. In the evening it transforms into the liveliest spot in Teignmouth as there are a number of pubs where you can buy food and a drink and enjoy watching the sun go down over the river Teign.

Teignmouth has many good quality restaurants and pubs and we are happy to recommend our favourites. You are also welcome to order in takeaway food and we will provide cutlery, crockery and wine glasses and do the washing up for you (please note, we are not licensed to sell alcohol).

The seawater here is clean and bathing is safe and we have a beach hut which all our guests may use for free.  The chalet is equipped with a microwave and kettle and is also handily next door to a cafe.

Look out for one of the steam trains that often travel along the track that curves right next to the beach.  The Teignmouth to Exeter railway line, built by Isambard Kingdom Brunel, is arguably the most picturesque in the country and a trip on it is a holiday must.

Apart from the beach there is a lot to do even when the sun doesn’t shine. Teignmouth has a museum, amazing coastal walks, a sea safari and plenty of watersports opportunities such as paddle boarding and kayaking.  The town also has an abundance of pubs and restaurants as well as the oldest passenger ferry in the country that takes you across the Teign the picturesque village of Shaldon.

With so much to do, there will be something to suit all in and around Teignmouth.
